“I like dancing because it’s beautiful,” explained 9-year-old Aleigh Buck—the energetic, young ballerina uses dance to connect with others.
Born prematurely, we first heard about Aleigha through the Garden of Dreams Foundation. Aleigha is a surviving twin and spent close to a year in the NICU following her birth. Despite her setbacks (one being hearing impaired), Aleigha has persevered and finds strength and joy in dancing.
“I like the Rockettes because they dance and I want to meet them,” she continued.
We were inspired by her spirit and zest for life, so, as one of our biggest fans, we brought her and her family to Radio City Music Hall to see the Christmas Spectacular for the first time!
“This could definitely become a tradition. I mean, she’s so excited! She’s been talking about this for weeks,” shared her mother.
While there, Aleigha and her family got to take in the wonder and beauty of Radio City Music Hall, but what she didn’t know is just moments before our performance, we were waiting with a special surprise for her!
See Aleigha’s reaction in the video above!
Join us for the 2019 Christmas Spectacular—the show is running now through January 5th at Radio City Music Hall!
